These are interesting times in the WAFL. The alignment between East Perth and West Coast will finish at the end of the season, West Perth is broke, there’s talk of mergers but best of all the Perth Demons are playing the kind of footy that might just mean they’ll participate in the finals for the first time since 1997. The Sharks are the only team out of contention after 11 rounds of the WAFL season (and even they are a mathematical chance of making the finals if they cheat in the exam). Wins to South Fremantle and West Perth  consolidated their positions, the newly exciting Perth had another victory and Subiaco were challenged by East Perth. Continue reading

Confidence is a useful commodity in footy. During the third quarter at Claremont on Saturday young Tiger Oliver Eastland was preparing for a shot at goal from 50 metres near the boundary. Experienced defender Keifer Yu cruised past took the handball missed with a flying shot and copped plenty from Sharks fans and players for his audacity. Continue reading
