Division 3’s undefeated Gippsland Power continued on their winning way, with a Round 5 victory over Lower Plenty Bears.
After a relatively close first quarter, the Power – who started with 11 of their own players and some from the opposition – pulled away from the home team, stretching their lead each quarter.
Lower Plenty lost two players early to injury: Brady Woods rolled his ankle in the first five minutes of the game and Bayley Kennedy, who had kicked two goals, did not return after half-time.
Gippsland maintained the pressure in the second half to win comfortably.
“The Gippsland players are highly skilled,” said Lower Plenty coach Nick Soccio. “Everyone tried and had a go. They did their bit when the ball came their way. I was really pleased with their efforts. ”
