On a cold and wet day Wyndham jumped out of the blocks early against reigning premiers North Ballarat to record its first win in Division 1. The Tigers, Division 2 premiers last year, had a very handy 25 point lead at half-time, which they increased even as the weather got worse.
Jamie Mifsud was everywhere with four goals and controlled centre half forward, Harley Graham kicked two in a good debut for the senior side and Aaron Grey kicked a handy two goals from roving the packs. “It was a good game and was played where we used all our speed and the wide open spaces,” said coach Paul Barrett.
