Moments before three quarter time at Bassendean Oval Swans led by 22 points. Subi kicked a goal after the siren and 5.6 to 0.2 in the last quarter to make it 27 wins in a row. Josh Deluca was good all day for the Lions while Kyal Horsley and Leigh Kitchen led the fightback. Tony Notte was magnificent for Swan Districts especially as his team crumbled in the last quarter.

There wasn’t much scoring at Lathlain Park but Perth did enough of it to win again. Michael Bennell kicked four goals and defenders Michael Sinclair and Clayton Giblett were solid. Claremont’s 5.13 may tell part of their story – Anton Hamp had a big game in defence.

Someone was going to have their first win of the season at East Fremantle Oval and for a while it was touch and go. West Perth kicked four goals to one in the last quarter. Star midfielders Shane Nelson and Aaron Black led the way for the Falcons. Luke Strnadica had his best game for the Sharks.
