On a beautiful day at Fremantle Oval Vic Country had no difficulty accounting for WA in the AFL Under-18 Championships.

Vic Country 14.13 (97) WA 5.5 (35)
Country boys to catch the eye included Darcy Parish and Billy Evans in the midfield, ruckman Gach Nyuon, who palmed the ball well and showed a willingness to run hard to position, David Mennel, who ran well and delivered the ball effectively, clever small man Jack Lonie, who kicked four goals, and forwards Caleb Marchbank and Daniel Butler (three goals).
WA found their feet late in the second quarter and were competitive in the second half but goals were hard to find. Jarded Hardisty was WA’s best player, he’s a willing runner and uses the ball well, defenders Dylan Winton and Francis Watson fought on against big odds – Watson went forward in the last quarter and kicked a goal – Zac Dent showed pace and Clem Smith and Brad Walsh were also good players.
