Essendon vs Carlton...
WELL, Essendon are better than we thought. And Carlton aren't as good as many, including Robert (Blues are a class ahead, The West Australian, Friday 26 June) Walls thought.
It was tight at the MCG in the Friday night game during the first half and a massacre in the second.
Andrew Lovett ran the Blues off their feet, Andrew Welsh fought back to get the better of Chris Judd, Paddy Ryder again rose to a rucking challenge and Angus Monfries had five kicks for five goals.
The Bombers are now in sight of the top four.
Essendon 21.10 (136) Carlton 9.13 (67).
