WAFL round eight...

A FIVE-goal haul from Brad Smith brought up his 500th WAFL goal and helped power Subiaco to a come-from-behind victory over East Fremantle. The Lions trailed by 15 points at half time but raced away to win by 50. Ben Keevers and Greg Broughton were good players for Subiaco.
Swan Districts kicked 12 goals to two in the first half to blow away East Perth. The Royals fought on to go down by 39. Brett Robinson had a great game for the Swans and Trevor Oliver was again the best of the Royals.
West Perth came back to form with a 51-point win over Peel at Rushton Park. Brent LeCras kicked five goals for the Falcons and Dion Fleay and Andrew Strijk were among many good players.
Claremont had their first win of the season, leading all the way to beat Perth by 28 points. Matt Orzel, who kicked three goals, had his best game for the year.
The ladder: South Fremantle 20; Subiaco 16; Swan Districts 16; East Fremantle 16; West Perth 16; Peel 16; Perth 12; East Perth 12; Claremont 4.
