Demons on the board
Two 41-point games in the WAFL...
A FEW years ago I was at Fremantle Oval to see a rare win at that venue for Perth. One ultra-loud Demons fan added to the atmosphere with his regular last quarter calls for his team to: “Bury these doggies and their droppings too.”
Well, they’ve done it again. Perth rarely gave South Fremantle a sniff, keeping them to five goals on the way to a 41-point victory. Captain Troy Cook set the scene for the Demons and received good support from Ross Young and Mathew Moody (four goals).
It was a sorry night for the Bulldogs but Kris Miller maintained his good early season form.
It was 41-points the difference in the other Friday night game too. Subiaco showed they’re far from a spent force and West Perth coach and former Lion Bill Monaghan experienced his first defeat.
Brad Smith kicked five goals for the Lions and Phil Read and Blake Broadhurst got four each.
Mark Seaby and Adam Campbell each kicked three goals for the Falcons.
Scores: South Fremantle 5.19 (49) Perth 13.12 (90). Subiaco 20.9 (129) West Perth 13.10 (88).
