Qualifying final Fremantle vs Hawthorn...

THE expert opinion going into the Fremantle-Hawthorn elimination final was that the bigger bodies and stack of premiership players would tip the scales heavily in the favour of the Hawks.
In addition there were three big keys for Hawthorn. The mighty forward Lance Franklin, the more than clever Cyril Rioli and the brilliant Luke Hodge.
As it turned out Fremantle simply didn't allow the Hawks to settle; Franklin was out-played by Luke McPharlin; Rioli pinged a hammy and Hodge was thrashed by Adam McPhee and looked less than fit.
Fremantle's big advantage was ruckman Aaron Sandilands but a clash of knees late in the first quarter confined him to the forward line and the Dockers played the newly urgent Michael Johnson and the admirable Alex Silvagni in the ruck to good effect.
Fremantle won this game easily.
